Obituary

Lola Maurine Reece Hendricks, 85, of Idaho Falls, died Saturday, May 29, 2010, in her home of natural causes. She was under the care of Creekside Home Health and Hospice. She was born August 13, 1924, in Grant, Idaho, to Samuel Irie Reece and Clara May Adams. She grew up in Felt, Idaho. She also spent her childhood in Washington, Rigby, Idaho Falls, Thomas and Ashton. She graduated from Ashton High in 1941, as a valedictorian. On February 16, 1944, she married Jack Egbert Hendricks in the Logan, Utah Temple. She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She has served in many auxiliary positions, including Relief Society President. She and her husband, Jack, served a mission to the Genealogical Library for the Church in Salt Lake City. She loved to sew and skillfully created clothing, draperies, and home beautification. She loved to cook and welcomed anyone who dropped in at mealtime to join around the family table. Her greatest love was genealogy, now called family history. She not only taught classes on genealogy, but also worked hard as she searched long hours and many miles to connect family records. She is survived by husband, Jack Egbert Hendricks, son, Sammie (Joelene) Hendricks of Idaho Falls, daughter, Suzanne (Jerry, deceased) Billman of Idaho Falls, daughter Ceri (Bruce, deceased) Likes of Idaho Falls, daughter Jeni (Tim) Paquett of Dallas, Texas, sister Edna Gerard of Iona, sister, Della Hayes of Taylorsville, Utah, sister Toi Lee (Greg) Fowler of Salt Lake City, Utah, brother Michael Reece of Salt Lake City, 28 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, James Reece Hendricks, infant sister Thelma Reece, and sister, Alana Lewis. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 3, 2010, at the Idaho Falls LDS 4th Ward, 955 Memorial Drive, Idaho Falls with Bishop Kevin Hathaway officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls, and one hour prior to the services at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be in the Annis Little-Butte Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.coltrinmortuary.com.
