Obituary

Loma Jean Scott Chesley, 85, Idaho Falls resident, died April 18, 2014, at her home of causes incident to age. She was born Dec. 19, 1928, in Byars, Oklahoma, the daughter of Orlie Eugene and Flossie Janet Easley Scott. She grew up and attended grade-school in Oklahoma and then spent her adolescent years in Arizona. She attended Fort Thomas High School in Arizona, and then graduated from Sevier Valley Technical College in Richfield, Utah, as a registered cosmetician. She married Jay Grant Chesley on April 28, 1945, in Oceanside, California, when he was serving in the Navy. After the war, they lived in Arizona, Utah, Montana, and Idaho. She was a member of the LDS Church and served in the Primary, the Relief Society as President, in the Young Women organization, and in the music. She loved gardening, and crafts. She made Christmas ornaments for her children and grandchildren every year. She loved her family and her friends, and showed it by her lifetime of service. Survivors include her husband, Jay, Idaho Falls; a son, Steven Jay (wife, Breta), of Helena, Mt; four daughters: Janet Palmer (husband, Darwin) of Idaho Falls, ID; Julia Daines (husband, Roger), of Spanaway, WA; Sally Lindberg, (husband, Rick), of Baytown, TX; and Susan Buys, (husband, Dean), of Idaho Falls, ID; 21 grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother, Buddy Scott. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 24, 2014, at the LDS East Stake Center, 1860 Kearney, by Bishop Greg Johnson. The family will meet with friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street in Idaho Falls, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
