He was born July 14, 1921, in Oakland, California to Adolph David Garliepp and Elenora Roseanne Clark Garliepp. He grew up and attended schools in Oakland. He graduated from Fremont High School. He served in the U.S. Army during world war II.
On October 5, 1946, he married Hazel Alberta Heath in Oakland, California. Following their marriage they moved to Concord, California where he worked for Dow Chemical Company in Pittsburg, California for 32 years. He retired and moved to Brookings, Oregon, and then following the death of his wife in 2003, he moved to Idaho Falls.
He was a member of the Southern Baptist Church.
He enjoyed motor home RVing, camping, picture taking, gardening, bird feeders, fishing, and working with his dog, Daisy.
He was a kind and loving father and husband for over 57 years.
He is survived by his sons, Dale A. (Linda) Garliepp Sr. of Selma, Oregon, and Daryl J. Garliepp of Roseburg, Oregon; his daughter, Donna J. (Carroll) Heaivilin of Idaho Falls, Idaho; 3 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and brothers, James and David.
