Obituary

Louann Jean Anderson, 77, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2019, at her home surrounded by her family.  Mom was born in Osceola, NE on December 12, 1941, and grew up on a farm in Marquette, NE until her teens when the family sold the farm and moved to Idaho.  She graduated from Rigby High School in 1958.

She met the love of her life, Merle Anderson and was married at St. John's Lutheran Church on June 3, 1960.  They may not have been wealthy but the love they had between the two of them was priceless.

Mom was very involved in the Lutheran Church and became a teacher of Bethel which brought others to know the Lord.  It brought Mom great joy to share her gospel of Jesus' sacrifice he made for our gift of salvation. She was one of the founding members of Crown of Life Church in Rigby, ID.

While she was attending Excelis Beauty School, she was unable to finish due to the joyous occasion of expecting her first son.  She had 5 children: 3 boys and 2 girls.  She was very active in sports both watching and playing.  She loved playing first base with her family and friends on a church league softball team.  When she was young she loved riding and drawings horses.  It was told to us by her brothers that she could ride a horse before she could walk.  Most of the time when you came over to Mom's house she was watching the sport that was on based on the season.  She would even attend her children's and grandchildren's sporting events.  She taught her young siblings how to play baseball.  One of her answered prayers was when they got a camper so she and Dad could enjoy the great outdoors.  Sometimes fishing wasn't good but the company sure was when they went.  She loved all types of crafts: painting, sewing, refinishing, reupholstering furniture, and crocheting.  To help supplement the family income she sold Artex. Sewing included making dresses and wedding dresses for her daughters, nieces, and grand-daughters and crocheting baby clothes and saddle oxfords.

Mom was a loving, strong, loyal and compassionate person.  The best of everything she put her hands to and dearly loved.

Louann was preceded in death by her parents: Fred and Dorathy (Strobel) Carter; brothers: Mike Carter and Roy Carter; and sister, Marie (Carter) Neill.  She lost the love of her life Merle Anderson in 2003.

She is survived by her son, Kevin (Anneliese) Anderson; daughter, Dorothy (Anderson) Hartley; son, Kenneth (Toni) Anderson; daughter, Roechele (Shelly Anderson) (Larry) Parsons; and son, Roger Anderson (Jenny) Anderson; 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
