Obituary

Louise May Owen, 85, of Boise, Idaho, formerly of Idaho Falls, Idaho, died Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at the home of her sister, Gladys Roper, from causes incident to age. She was under the care of Idaho Home Health and Hospice.

She was born August 15, 1922, in Ogden, Utah, to Lewis and Ruth Jeffery Owen. She grew up in Idaho Falls and attended Idaho Falls High School where she graduated in 1941. She then attended Idaho Falls Business College.

She served in the Women's Army Corp-WAC's- from July 22, 1944- January 15, 1946.

Louise was employed by the Bureau of Reclamation. She started with them in the 1950's when Palisades Dam was built. She moved to Rupert and then to Burley and retired in Boise with some 30 years plus of service.

She was a member of the NARFE, AARP and she was active with the Boise Senior Center.

Louise was not just a sister to her siblings, but she was mother, friend, and supportive of her whole family.

She is survived by her brother, Russell (Elsie) Owen of Idaho Falls; 2 sisters, Berniece Noblitt of Portland, Oregon, and Gladys (Jay) Roper of Idaho Falls numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father, Lewis Owen, her mother, Ruth Owen, and a brother, Floyd Owen.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 31, 2008, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the mortuary. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery with military rites performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Team and the Idaho Military Honor Guard.
