Lowell H. Weeks, 62, loving father, grandfather, son and brother, returned to the peaceful presence of his Heavenly Father on July 9, 2013. His passing was a result of natural causes. Lowell was born on January 29, 1951 in Idaho Falls, Idaho; the oldest child of Harry and Evelyn Weeks. He enjoyed the outdoors and would hunt and fish with his father and brothers. He graduated from Skyline High School in 1969. He then moved to Denver, Colorado where he attended Denver Automotive & Diesel College for two years. He worked at Ucon Produce for 19 years following his higher education. The last 22 years he worked as a small engine mechanic at Ace Hardware where several close friendships were nurtured. Throughout his life he continued to enjoy the outdoors and the peace and solitude the mountains and desert plains can bring. He enjoyed fishing with his sons and grandsons, camping, riding four wheelers and snow mobiles, and spending time with his grandchildren. He also loved going to car shows and restoring a classic truck of his own. His smile would brighten his eyes and bring a sparkle to them that is not easily forgotten and his laugh could lighten the mood of an entire crowd. Lowell was single at the time of his passing and is survived by his two sons Garry of Las Vegas, NV and Randy (Maria) of Kuna, ID, and his siblings Gene (Deanna), Howard, Ferren, Doug (Peggy), and Joan. He is also survived by grandchildren Tatiana, Quenten, and Camren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was previously married to Donna Larsen of Las Vegas who is the mother of his two sons that they are both proud of. Later Lowell married Lois Rockwood of Ammon, ID whose daughter Hidy Rockwood and grandson's Skyler Rockwood, Teagun Rockwood, and Chance Graham held a special place in Lowell's life. Lowell was preceded in death by his father, Harry Cook Weeks, his mother, Evelyn Virgina Berrett Weeks, his brother-in-law, Mike Lambert, and his nephew, Kade Robert Chapple. His conversation, laughter, and quiet presence will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 15th at 1:00 pm at the LDS Chapel at 4707 E Iona Rd. The chapel is located just east of the corner of Iona Road and 45th St, with Bishop Murphy of the Iona 8th Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends from 11:00am to 12:15pm prior to services. Interment will be at the Ammon Cemetery.
