Obituary

Lucile Helene Sommers Kerr, 89, of Idaho Falls, died Thursday, April 10, 2008, at Good Samaritan Society- Idaho Falls Village. She had been under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho.

She was born November 14, 1918 in Coltman, Idaho, to Levi Severson and Sigrid Simonson Severson. She grew up in the Coltman-LaBelle area and graduated from Rigby High School in 1937. She attended a vocational training school where she earned a Certificate of Achievement in the operation of office machines.

She married Henry Earl Sommers and they were later divorced. In 1969, she married William B. Kerr in Idaho Falls. She was a lifelong resident of Idaho.

Besides being a homemaker, she was employed at area dry cleaning establishments.

She loved to spend time with her family especially her grandchildren, Dawnette Russell, Ron W. (LaRenda) Sommers, and James D. (Jennifer) Sommers on family outings camping, fishing and hunting.

Lucile was a wonderful, caring, fun-loving woman who was adored by all who knew her and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends

She is survived by the following: spouse, William B. Kerr of Idaho Falls; son, David S. (Susan L. ) Sommers of Ririe, ID; sister, Lillian Davis of Utah; sister, Alice (Walt) Bybee of California; sister, June Hope of Utah; brother, Floyd (Frances) Severson of Oregon; 3 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by 5 brothers and a sister.

A Memorial Open House will be from 1-5:00 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2008, at David Sommers's home, 14215 N. 175 E in Ririe.

Cremation was under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., in Idaho Falls.
