Obituary

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Lyle Barclay Moss, passed on to his Heavenly Father on February 22, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer. He had been under the care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice.

He was born April 13, 1924, at the Rapid Creek Ranger Station in Alta, Wyoming. He was born of goodly parents, William Francis Moss and Janie Graham Barclay Moss. He spent his youth in the land that he loved, the Valley of the Tetons. After graduating from Teton High School and spending a semester at Utah State University, he joined the United States Army Air Force to serve in World War II. He served in the 15th Army Air Force, flying over thirty B17 combat missions in the European Theater.

After returning home from the war, he met the love of his life, Bonnie Cordon. They were married on March 16, 1949, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. This March they would have celebrated 60 wonderful years of being together.

Lyle started working for the Atomic Energy Commission in 1955. He retired in 1988, after 33 years of dedicated government employment.

After retirement, he and Bonnie spent 3 years in Arizona and 17 years in St. George, Utah, enjoying his favorite sport of golf. He dearly loved his St. George friends. He spent many years traveling around the country. He spent his summers actively involved in the Senior Golf Association and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He loved paying honor to fallen Veterans and their families.

He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints his entire life. He served in various callings and especially loved attending the temple.

The greatest joy in his life came from his wife and family. He spent many hours watching his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren participating in various activities including sports, music and drama.

He is survived by his wife and 4 children: Peggy (George) Rigby of Idaho Falls; Tauna (Scott) Fell of Idaho Falls; Gary (Tanya) Moss of Meridian, Idaho; and R. Todd (Dawn) Moss of Bellefonte, Pennsylvania; 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 27, 2009, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends Thursday evening from 6-7:30 p.m. and Friday from 10-10:45 a.m. both at the mortuary. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Cemetery with military rites by the Bonneville County Veterans' Teams and the Idaho Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to; The Lori-Olsen Marks Foundation for Hospice Care; 3470 Washington Parkway; Idaho Falls, ID 83404.

The family expresses deep appreciation for the loving care Aspen Home Health and Hospice gave to our dear husband and father.
