Lynn O. Green, 76, of Idaho Falls, died December 29, 2010, of heart failure at Life Care Center. He was born March 2, 1934, in the old LDS Hospital in Idaho Falls, to Robert Walter Green and Afton Ellsworth Poole Green. The family moved to Idaho Falls when he was 10 and he graduated from the new Idaho Falls High School in 1954. After high school, he traveled with his dad and brothers working with sheep, wrangling, shearing and everything else. He joined the Idaho National Guard with the 116th Engineer Battalion and served 21 years, which included one and a half years of active duty in Vietnam. In Vietnam, he helped clear the jungle and made roads over mountains. He drove delivery trucks for bag companies and after Vietnam, worked at the INL Site for 22 years, retiring in December of 1995. There he made two of his best friends, Fred Tolli, and Byron Ferguson, who remained close to him throughout his life. He married Sandra Longacre in June, 1958. They had a son, Destry Green. They later divorced. He married Nell Marie Reynolds in July, 1961. They had 2 daughters, Lynell and Michele Green. Survivors include his wife, Nell Green and children, Destry Green, Lynell Green and Michele Green of Idaho Falls; a brother, Jay Green of Layton, Utah, and many loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers: Dick and Bob, and 3 sisters-in-law, Jeanne, Glenda and Colleen. Memorial services will be held at a later date in 2011.
