Roy McKinney (Mack) Ketchum, 45, of Idaho Falls, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2020, surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer. He was under the care of Aspen Hospice.

Mack was born on June 20, 1974, in Tuscon, Arizona to Michael Franklin and Dixie Bodle Ketchum. He spent some of his early years in Colorado. The family moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho in 1982, where he graduated from Bonneville High School in 1992. He went on to earn his BA from Cameron University and his MPA from Oklahoma University.

After graduating from High School, Mack joined the US Army. He was honorably discharged in September 1997. He was actively deployed to Korea and served in the Army for 4 years.

On October 6, 2011, he married Amy Christine Humpherys in Milo, Idaho. They were solemnized in the Rexburg Temple on July 3, 2014.

While in High School he worked at EIRMC in food services and material management. While in college he worked in Oklahoma at a radio station. After graduating from college he worked most of his career at Peak Uplink as a satellite uplink engineer. He was able to meet President Barack Obama and John McCain. He worked many Super Bowls, NBA finals, X-games, other sporting, and news events.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Mack loved being outdoors camping, fishing, four-wheeling, and anything to do with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Amy Ketchum of Idaho Falls, ID; his children: Jaesa Michel Ketchum, Julian (Jaycee) Ketchum, Jade Ketchum, Jude Ketchum all of Lehi, Utah (from a previous marriage), Kirsten (Zack) Doxey and Jacquel (Brock) Stacey both of Idaho Falls, Idaho; his dad, Michael Franklin Ketchum of Ogden, Utah; his mom, Dixie (Dean) Bird of Idaho Falls, Idaho; his sisters, Mariah (Brandon) Cole of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Alisha (Paul) Whittington of Ogden, Utah; his brother, Michael Adam (Mandy) Ketchum of Ogden, Utah; 3 grandchildren with 2 more on the way.

Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, March 28, 2020, at Milo Cemetery where military rites will be performed by the Jefferson County Veterans Team and Idaho Honor Guard. Services are under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls.
