Margaret June Johnson, 89, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness. She was born June 6, 1924, in Paw Paw, Illinois, the daughter of Sheldon G. Cooke and Edna A. Stryker Cooke. She grew up and attended schools in Paw Paw. In 1942, she graduated from Paw Paw High School. She attended Easter Idaho Technical College in Idaho Falls. On August 26, 1942, she married Chester E. Johnson in Clinton, Idaho. They were later divorced. She worked at the Green River Ordinance Plant in Amboy, Illinois; Greenlee Tool in Genoa, Illinois; and Idahoan Foods in Idaho Falls. Margaret was a member of the Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed puzzles, reading, watching NASCAR races and camping. Margaret's life was centered on her family. She is survived by a daughter, Alice "Ginger" Schnur of Idaho Falls; a son, Calvin K. (Betty) Johnson of Idaho Falls; a sister, Jeanie Woods of Santa Rosa, California; 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by 3 sons; a granddaughter, and a great-granddaughter. Private family services will be held at a later date.
