Maria Guadalupe Shelton, 69, of Idaho Falls, died April 6, 2017 at her home.

She was born on May 25, 1947, to Macario Flores Lopez and Simona Baez, in Culiacān, Mexico. She moved to Idaho in 1975. She was very proud to become a United States citizen. She loved the flag and what it represents. She was a loving mother of 4 boys and 1 daughter.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Maria married Jose Luis Parra, and they were later divorced. She later married Don R. Shelton in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Don passed away on October 20, 2015.

She enjoyed shopping and spending quality time with her family. Maria was a loving wife and mother.

She is survived by her daughter, Melinda (Ryan) Johnson, of Harker Heights, Texas; her sons: Felipe Parra, of Denver, Colorado, Jose (Bonnie) Parra, of Boise, Idaho, Mario (Melanie) Parra, of Joseph City, Arizona and Michael Parra, of Idaho Falls, Idaho; a sister, Blanca (Porfirio) Flores Baez; her bothers: Rueben (Victoria) Flores Baez, Carlos (Carmen) Flores Baez, Gume (Vicki) Flores Baez, Chayo (Maria) Flores Baez, and Jesus (Terri) Flores Baez, all of Culiacān, Mexico; 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Shelton; her brothers: Rafael Flores Baez and Humberto Flores Baez.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 14th, 2017 at the Eagle Rock LDS Stake Center, 2020 Charlotte Dr., Idaho Falls, with Bishop Ken Anderson officiating. The family will receive Friends from 7-9:00 p.m., Thursday, April 13, 2017, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Teton-Newdale Cemetery, in Teton, Idaho. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.coltrinmortuary.com
