After several years of valiantly fighting an illness, Mom's journey on this earth has come to an end.
Alice Marie Chadwick was born March 1, 1928, in Hazelton, Idaho, to Frederick Richard and Alice Alberta Chadwick, the youngest of five children. She grew up and attended grade school through high school in Hazelton. She took tap dance lessons in grade school, and was a baton twirler in the marching band. She also took ball room dance lessons in high school. She loved her home town of Hazelton. She loved the smell of the fields when the farmers were burning them in the summer. She would roll the window down to take a deep breath and comment how the smell always reminded her of great memories while growing up in Hazelton. Sometime after completing high school, Marie came to Idaho Falls to attend business college. After completing her training, she worked for different lumber companies as a bookkeeper in Idaho Falls for several years. Marie met her future husband, William (Bill) Ernest McCabe at Johnny's Café in Idaho Falls in January of l950. They were married on July 11, 1950 in Idaho Falls. They started their family in l952. Bill's work with McCabe Brothers Drilling often took him out of town. Although he was home as often as possible, Marie was left to the challenging task of raising her three children alone a lot of the time. She was a wonderful mother, wife, homemaker, and friend. Marie also had a special love for animals of all kinds. Stray cats, dogs, and other pets could always find a good home thanks to her beautiful, caring heart. "Mom, we miss you already. We wish we could have had more time with you here. But we know that you are having a wonderful reunion with loved ones that have passed before you. We know that Dad is especially happy to be reunited with you once again. Now you can celebrate your 55th wedding anniversary together, as always. We love you so much and look forward to our own reunion with you again someday." Marie is survived by her sons: William Scott McCabe Steve Wilson (Lynn) Fouts a daughter, Colleen Marie (Jim) Wright 9 grandchildren 3 great-grandchildren
