Obituary

Marilyn Ricks Presto, 85, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 14, 2021, at Tambree Meadows Assisted Living Center in Idaho Falls, surrounded by family.

Marilyn was born on September 19, 1935, in her grandparents' home in Moody, Idaho to Robert Russell and Opal Huskinson Ricks.

The big sister to her three brothers, Marilyn grew up in both Idaho and Arizona. While in Arizona she met her first husband, Joseph Van Peterson. They were married on January 20, 1956, in the Mesa, Arizona Temple. Together they had 4 daughters: Cindy, Sherri, Joyce, and Mary Ann.

After their divorce, she met and married Joseph Ambrose Presto. He had 2 sons: Vince and Chris Presto. This gave her the boys she always wanted.

Marilyn was spunky, loved life, enjoyed a good laugh, and was willing to help wherever she was needed. She loved to crochet and made many afghans for family, friends, and donated many baby afghans to the local hospital.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Opal Ricks; stepmom, Verla Ward Ricks; brothers: Reed and Bart Ricks; husbands: Van Peterson and Joe Presto; daughter, Cindy Phillips; son, Chris Presto; and a sister-in-law, Nadine Ricks.

She is survived by her brother, Brent (Sue) Ricks of Moody, ID; sister-in-law, Peggy (Reed) Ricks of Mesa, AZ; daughters: Sherri (Garin) Abegglen of Wilford, ID, Joyce (Michael) Barker of Ammon, ID, and Mary Ann (Jim) Everhart of Belton, MO; son, Vince (Jackie) Presto of Warsaw, MO; stepsiblings: Karlene McFarland of Salem, ID, Devon (LaDawn) Bratsman of Rexburg, ID, Yuvone Cripps of Las Vegas, NV, Brent (Sherry) Bratsman of Eagle, ID, Monna (Richard) Melson of Montgomery, TX, and DaNae (Estle) Sadorus of Bountiful, UT; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

A special thank you to the Tambree Meadows Memory Care unit for all the abuse they took from Marilyn. "If she wasn't swearing at us, we weren't loved. She was one of a kind and we really enjoyed and loved her."

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at the Wilford Ward, 215 North 2400 East.
