IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marina
Nielsen
July 22, 1959 – April 2, 2024
Marina Nielsen, 64, of Idaho Falls, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, surrounded by her family at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.
Marina was born on July 22, 1959, in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Marinus Jacob Davidson and Verna Mae Speirs. She grew up in the Lincoln area and graduated from Bonneville High School.
On August 17, 1979, she married Brad Nielsen in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Marina and Brad lived in Idaho Falls where they raised two children, Leah and Nicholas.
Marina was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved singing, with "How Great Thou Art" her favorite hymn. She always sang it so beautifully, Brad said. "I told her a long time ago that when it came to voices, she was Cinderella, and I was the ugly stepsister." She just laughed. The first time Brad met her, she played her guitar and sang for him. He went home that night and wrote in his journal that she had a deep, low river of a voice.
She was also an active Cub Scout leader in the Boy Scouts of America and attended Wood Badge training.
Marina is survived by her husband, Brad Nielsen of Idaho Falls, Idaho; her children: Leah Nicole Nielsen and Nicholas Nielsen both of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and four grandchildren: Cody Seth Burnside, Cherish Nicole Burnside, Kamron Joshua Burnside, and Kayden James Nielsen.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Marinus Jacob Davidson and Verna Mae Speirs Davidson.
