Marjorie A. David, 97, of Idaho Falls, died Monday, October 2, 2017, at MorningStar Senior Living Center. She was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho.
Marjorie was born on January 23, 1920, in Tescott, Kansas, to Lida and Ernest Buck. She grew up on the homestead in Wyoming with her parents and 2 sisters and one brother until she was 12. During the depression her folks left homestead and her father worked on Boulder Dam. She was a life time Eagle Scout in Girl Scouts and a 4-H member where she received several awards. She graduated from Las Vegas High School in 1938. She attended Woodbury College in Los Angeles, California, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Commercial Art.
While in college she met Benjamin J. David. They were married in 1941, in Los Angeles, California. They lived in Los Angeles where there two sons: Ron and Jim David were born. The family relocated several times with Ben's employment and eventually moved to Idaho Falls and then Rigby in 1980. Ben passed away on June 23, 1988.
Marjorie had a love for gardening, knitting, painting, quilting, and music. She enjoyed playing the piano and organ. She learned to play Bridge at the YMCA in Idaho Falls, and started a bridge group in 1972, which is still in existence to this day.
She is survived by her two sons, Ron and Jim David and their families which includes two daughters-in-law, 4 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin David.
