Marjorie Merrill Judy, 93, of Ammon, Idaho, died Saturday, September 24, 2011, at Mountain Valley Assisted Living Center. She was under the care of Solace Hospice. She was born January 22, 1918, in Providence, Utah, to Frank and Nellie Mae Pickett Merrill. She grew up in Providence and received her early education there. She graduated from South Cache High School in Hyrum, Utah. She married Rulon Clifford Judy in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple on September 29, 1937. She met Clifford at a Sunday school party. He died May 9, 1990. She lived in Providence until she was 18, and then moved to Ammon, where she spent the rest of her life. She spent summers at Ozone for a number of years to be closer to the farm. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as Relief Society President, Relief Society Presidency, Stake Young Women's Presidency, Primary Presidency, Temple Ordinance Worker and various other positions. She served a mission to the Family History Center in 1991. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, traveling, the beauty of nature and her family and grandchildren. Marjorie was a loving daughter, wife and mother. She loved her flower gardens and the beauty they brought. Her greatest joy was her family. She was the happiest when she was with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by the following: Daughters: Margene(Lennis)Tirrel and DiAnn Pierson both of Ammon; Sons: Douglas(Terry)Judy; Lyle Judy; Dan(Carla)Judy; Max Judy all of Ammon; Sister, Gennevive Russell of Salt Lake City; Son-in-law, Steven Pierson of Arco; 38 grandchildren, 143 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clifford; parents; sisters: Lois and Gertrude; daughter-in-law, Donean Judy and granddaughter, Lori Judy. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 28, 2011, at the Ammon LDS 10th Ward Chapel, 4375 E. Sunnyside Rd., Idaho Falls, with Bishop David Hurst officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 27, 2011, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls, and one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be at the Ammon Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Mountain Valley Assisted Care and Solace Hospice for their loving care.
