Martha Ann (Hale) Haslam, 82, passed away September 6, 2008, at the home of her son, of heart failure.

Martha was born February 16, 1926 in Murray, Utah to Myrtle and Ray Brewer. She attended elementary school at Union Elementary. She attended Jordan High School where she was a drum majorette. She graduated from Jordan High in 1944 and went to work in a dress shop.

In October 1947, Martha married Jack Hale. They had three children; Larinda, Brent, and Bob. They lived in Utah, Idaho, and California. During this time, Martha worked for several dress shops, a bakery, and also at Hewlett Packard. Jack and Martha were divorced in 1970.

Martha had many talents and hobbies. She loved gardening, flower arranging, crafts of all kinds, snow-skiing, water-skiing, singing, and dancing. She and her family enjoyed traveling to many places around the world. The thing she loved most of all was her family. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and devoted all her time to making the lives of those around her better. She was a friend to all and blessed the lives of those around her. Her sunny personality will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In 1972, she married James Haslam in Salt Lake City. They lived in Denver for eleven years and then upon Jim's retirement, moved back to Utah. Jim preceded her in death in 1993 after 23 years of marriage.

Martha was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served diligently in a number of callings in the church.

She is survived by her sister, Darlene Brewer of Sandy Utah, sons; Brent (Tania) Hale of Denver Colorado, Bob (Lisa) Hale of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Larinda Hale of Salt Lake City, Utah. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Haslam, her parents, and her brother Jess Brewer of Salt Lake City, Utah.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 11, at the LDS Tiebreaker building (1100 Tiebreaker Dr.) in Ammon, Idaho. A viewing will be held the same morning from 8:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at the church. Graveside services will be held in Sandy, Utah at the Larkin Sunset Garden Cemetery at 6 p.m. on the same day.
