Marty Jay Coffin, 65, of Ririe, passed away Friday, April 19, 2024, at his sister's home. He was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho.

Marty was born on April 23, 1958, to Jack L. Coffin and Sara Warner Coffin in Ashton, Idaho. He grew up in West Yellowstone, Montana. He attended West Yellowstone High School and graduated in 1976. Marty joined the United States Air Force where he was stationed in Annapolis, Maryland. He served from 1977-1980.

In May 1977, he married Velma Walsh in West Yellowstone, Montana and they were later divorced. He later married Nancy Patten and they also divorced. He worked at the Market Center Grocery Store in West Yellowstone, Montana, then moved to Ririe, Idaho, and worked in telecommunications. Marty was a self-taught mechanic and enjoyed working on cars. He was brilliant with technology and mechanics, and he loved movies.

He is survived by his daughter, Nikki Coffin of California; his son, Jake Coffin of California; his sisters: Sally Coffin of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Becky Coffin of Salt Lake City, Utah; his brothers: Mel (Chandra) Coffin of Salt Lake City, Utah, Mike Coffin of West Yellowstone, Montana, and Jack (Anna) Coffin of Kalispell, Montana.
