Mary DeAnn Williams, 61, of Idaho Falls, died October 11, 2017 at The Gables Assisted Living Center in Ammon. She was under the care of Access Home Care and Hospice.
DeAnn was born on July 10, 1956, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Glen and Cora Hambey Rowberry. She was born prematurely and spent her first six weeks in the hospital. She grew up in Idaho Falls where she attended Bonneville High School. She earned her GED in 1974. She received her LPN in 1975 from Eastern Idaho Technical College. In 1987 she attended Idaho State University where she made the Dean's List.
On August 6, 1973, she married Steven Vern Williams in Idaho Falls. They were later divorced, however, they remarried on April 12, 1976, in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. She lived in Oak Harbor, Washington, Ridge Crest, California and Memphis, Tennessee before returning to Idaho Falls.
Before becoming ill, DeAnn had attended Christ Community Church.
DeAnn volunteered for the Bonneville County Republican Women committee for two years.
Christmas time was Deann's favorite season because she could "decorate and make things shiny and cheerful." She loved crafts, enjoyed crocheting, and was an avid science-fiction fan, especially of Star Trek. She adored her granddaughters, Savannah and Alexis, and took every opportunity to spoil them whenever she could.
One of DeAnn's fondest childhood memories was of riding in Grandma Hambey's pink Cadillac convertible, taking corners on two wheels and holding on for dear life.
She is survived by her mother, Cora (Vern) Bush, of Deer Lodge, Montana; her daughter, Elizabeth (Drew) Spence, of Juneau, Alaska; her son, Sean A. (Michelle L.) Williams, of Idaho Falls, Idaho; her brother, Michael (Diane) Bush, of Idaho Falls, Idaho; her sister, Jo Bailey; and 2 granddaughters.
