Obituary

Mary Margaret Lott Hill, 82, of Idaho Falls, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. She was born April 17, 1930, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to John Taylor Lott and Mary Hawkins Lott. On May 6, 1949, she married her childhood friend, Donald Gene Hill. Mary was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved the gospel and served in many callings including Relief Society President while living in South Carolina. Don's work with Arabian American Oil Company (Aramco) took them to Saudi Arabia where she served as the first stake Relief Society President in the Arabian Peninsula Stake. She loved her family and especially the times spent together at "the ranch" in Swan Valley, Idaho. Mary was an excellent cook and homemaker, loved to garden, raised beautiful flowers, and enjoyed shopping for antiques. Mary was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She took great delight in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary is survived by the following: Husband, Donald Gene Hill of Idaho Falls; Son, Don Hill Jr. of Idaho Falls; Daughters: Marianne (Bill) Sperry of Cave Creek, Arizona, and Susan (Phillip) Ivey of Salem, Utah; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; brothers: Jack Lott of Idaho Falls; Richard (Ernestine) Lott of Burbank, Washington, Spencer (MaryEtta) Lott of Idaho Falls, and a sister, Carolyn (Todd) Haungs of Idaho Falls. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Clair Lott Hill; a brother, Ray Lott; sister, Bonnie Blaylock; and a grandson, Bryce Tippetts. Funeral services will be at 12 Noon, Monday, February 25, 2013, at the Idaho Falls LDS 7th Ward Chapel, 955 Memorial Drive with Bishop Joshua Hawkes officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2013, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls, and Monday one hour prior to the services at the church.
