Mary Jo McNaughton, 85, of Rexburg, passed away on February 12, 2023, at Homestead Senior Living. She was under the care of Aspen Hospice.

Mary Jo was born on January 23, 1938, in Hazen, North Dakota, to Paul and Hazel Larson Rettke. She grew up in North and South Dakota and graduated from Redfield High School in South Dakota.

She married William (Bill) McNaughton in 1981. Bill passed away on December 25, 2017. She lived in various places such as California, Nevada, and Arizona, and then settled in Idaho. She worked as a bank teller for several years in Arizona and Nevada before retiring.

Mary Jo attended Grace Baptist Church in Rexburg. She loved pets and had 4 cats and 1 dog before moving into assisted living.

Her most enjoyable times were spent with her family. She loved and was proud of each of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Cammy (Rod) Willmore of St. Anthony, Idaho; her son, Chris (Jill) Heintz of Henderson, Nevada; her 10 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William McNaughton; and her sons: Michael Heintz and Kerry Heintz.
