Mary Johnnetta Shick, 83, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, died Thursday, September 3, 2009, at her home in Idaho Falls. She had been under the care of Idaho Home Health and Hospice. She was born April 13, 1926, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to John R.V. Call and Celia Woodland Call. She grew up in Eureka, California, and attended Eureka High School. On January 20, 1947, she married Robert Shick in Yakima, Washington. The marriage was solemnized in 1963, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. After the death of her husband, August 11, 1971, she moved to Idaho Falls in 1977. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various positions including Stake Relief Society President. After the death of her husband, she served a full time mission in the Georgia Atlanta Mission. In her later years, Johnnetta enjoyed giving service by doing church humanitarian projects. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, but especially spending time with her family. Our sweet mother returned home after living a full and happy life devoted to her family and the gospel of Jesus Christ. She is survived by her daughters: Christine (Phil) Cope of Savannah, Georgia; Betty (Kent) Wood; Susan (David) Carter; Celia, (Paul) McKenzie all of Idaho Falls; sons: Robert (Colleen) Shick and David (Lisa) Shick both of Sandy, Utah; James (Jenny) Shick of Spanish Fork, Utah; brothers: Elmer (Clara) Green and Leo (Evelyn) Call both of Sacramento, California; 30 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Caryl Jean Shick; 2 grandchildren, Christian and Sara Shick; 2 brothers: Vearlee Call and Marvin Call; 2 sisters: Melba Green and Frances Call. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 12, 2009, at the Idaho Falls LDS East Stake Center, 1860 Kearney, Idaho Falls, with Bishop D. J. Teichert officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
