Mary Lee Young, 79, of Idaho Falls, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2020, passed peacefully in her sleep at her home with her loving daughter Caroline nearby.  She was under the care of Solace Hospice.

Mary was born on February 17, 1940, in Juneau, Alaska to Hildred Carolyn (Whitely) and Ludwig Christian Baggen (both from Seattle, Washington). Mary spent her youngest years in Juneau.  Her Mom, Hildred remarried George Hansen from Denmark, and Mary and the family relocated to Newport Beach, California while Mary was in grade school.  Mary attended Newport Beach High School and spent most of her life living in California, but had relocated to Idaho Falls shortly before she passed.

Mary is survived by her brother Chad Hansen, her sister Virginia Longmeyer, her 5 children:  Rhonda (Omaha, Illinois), Patrick (Loomis, California), Wayne (Carlsbad, California), Caroline (Idaho Falls, Idaho) and Jon (The Villages, Florida), 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and her two dogs: Pepe and Fiona.

Mary loved scrap-booking and took great joy in spending time with her family.  Mary realized her dream shortly before her death of being surrounded by all 5 of her children in the same place at the same time.   She will be missed.

The family will hold a memorial service on February 29, 2020, in Carlsbad, California. Cremation was under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls, Idaho.
