Marylee Jean McCutcheon died Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at Morningstar Senior Living Facility in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was 93.
Marylee was born July 2, 1928, in Whitefish, Montana to Lee and Hazel Barnes. She graduated from Whitefish High School in 1946. She went on to obtain a teaching certificate from Montana State University-Northern in Havre, Montana. She married Robert McCutcheon June 25, 1949.
Marylee left her teaching career to focus on raising her four daughters (Laurie, Carol, Erin and Sara). She was active in the Presbyterian Church, numerous bridge clubs, and the Albuquerque, New Mexico Cosmopolitan Club. She loved visiting family, baking cookies, stylish clothes, leading girl scout troops, playing bridge and traveling.
Upon Robert's retirement, they traveled across the USA in their motorhome and also made numerous international trips with their church. Later they became snowbirds, keeping their home in Albuquerque but spending their winters in Casa Grande, Arizona. In 2007, she and her husband moved to the Windcrest retirement community in Colorado. She eventually moved to Idaho Falls for health reasons, where she has resided for the past several years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, one sister, and one son-in-law. She is survived by two sisters (Carol Larsen, Boise and Sharon Stone, Lacey). She is also survived by her four daughters Laurie (Albert), Albuquerque; Carol, Denver; Erin (Paul), Idaho Falls; Sara (Ken), Albuquerque; five grandchildren (Joshua, Kyle, Jacob, Cole, and Megan), and two great-grandchildren (Kaelyn and Layla).
She is a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. Her ashes will be scattered next to her husbands in a private family ceremony.
