Matthew Lent Leonardson, 36 of Idaho Falls, died November 8, 2008 in Tampa, Florida of natural causes.

He was born June 3, 1972, in Idaho Falls to Arliss Wayne Leonardson and Donna Mae Riding Leonardson. He grew up in Idaho Falls and Vaughn, Montana. He attended Simms High School in Simms, Montana, and Skyline High School in Idaho Falls.

In May 2002 he married Stephanie Nation. Besides living in Vaughn, Montana, and Idaho Falls, he lived in Pocatello. He worked as a truck driver for many years. His most recent employer in Idaho Falls was Doug Andrus Trucking.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He loved to hunt, fish, snowmobile, and go biking and four-wheeling.

Matt was a very loving, compassionate person who was always helping others; he will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by the following: father, Arliss Wayne Leonardson of Vaughn, Montana; mother, Donna Mae Waldron of Samaria, Idaho; brothers: Charles Wayne Leonardson of Woodland, Washington, and Russell Clark Leonardson of Idaho Falls; sisters: Diana Kirkham of Idaho Falls; Jacquelin Kennedy of Mission Viejo, California; Alane McMurtrey of Superior, Colorado; Andrea Atkinson of Preston, Idaho; Katherine and Karen Leonardson both of Ft. Shaw, Montana.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Douglas Leonardson.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 15, 2008, at the LDS Church at 1200 Dunbar St. Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Dubois Cemetery approximately 2:30 p.m. following the services on Saturday. Local funeral arrangements are under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls, Idaho.
