IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Medora Ida
Webster
September 28, 1923 – September 22, 2018
Medora Ida Webster, 94, of Idaho Falls, died Sept. 22, 2018, at Lincoln Court Retirement Community in Idaho Falls. She was under the care of Encompass Home Health and Hospice.
Medora was born on Sept. 28, 1923, to Simon and Martha Michael Saunders in Roy, Utah. She grew up in the Shelley/Blackfoot area. She graduated from Shelley High School in 1942.
On March 22, 1945, she married Claude Elmer Webster in Petersburg, Virginia. A year later, they were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on March 22, 1946. They were blessed with three boys and four daughters.
While living in Salt Lake City, Utah, she worked in the laundry department for the Salt Lake Hospital and for EIMAC, making radar tubes for the war effort. A year after marriage, she moved to Idaho Falls, where she helped with voting elections, delivering phone books and at the Thrifty Nickle part-time with her husband. Most of the time, she was a homemaker raising her family.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed serving where she could. Some of the positions she served in were Primary president and teacher, compassionate service leader and Cub Scout leader. She worked in the Idaho Falls Temple. She helped with Special Olympics, volunteered as a Pink Lady at Riverview Hospital and most recently was Queen of Lincoln Court 2015-2016.
Medora enjoyed sewing, making quilts, baking, crocheting, camping and taking drives in the mountains. Her favorite was being with her grandkids. She was a friend to all.
We would like to thank the staffs from Lincoln Court and Encompass Home Health and Hospice for the loving care they gave to our mom.
She is survived by her sons: Michael (Sally) Webster, of St. Anthony, Idaho; Dale (Becky) Webster, of Rigby, Idaho; and Bruce (Diane) Webster, of Idaho Falls, Idaho; her daughters: Doreen (Terry, deceased) Leonard, of Iona, Idaho; Claudia (James) Neitzel, of Shelley, Idaho; Arlene Green, of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Janet (Hal) Sibbett, of Boise, Idaho; brother, Donald (Yvonne) Saunders, of Brigham City, Utah; sisters-in-law, Norva Hall, of Spokane, Washington, and Velma Webster, of Austin, Texas; 37 grandchildren, 96 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
