He was born May 2, 1928, in Idaho Falls to Henry Robert Rosen and Thula Marie Bailey Rosen . He grew up in Ammon and attended Ammon High School.
On April 5, 1957, he married Darlene Stauffer. They later divorced. On August 18, 1973, he married Donna Sue Cloe. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 29 years before retiring. For a short time, he worked for the INEL as a bus driver. He worked for Idaho Falls School District #91 as the activity road bus driver which he enjoyed doing for 15 years.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served in the Elder's Quorum Presidency, Sunday School Presidency, as a home teacher, home teaching supervisor, as a Stake Missionary, and at the time of his death, he held the office of a High Priest.
His hobbies included model railroading, collecting war memorabilia, driving his 1944 Army jeep, riding motorcycles, scooters, and snowmobiles; camping, gardening, and repairing and fixing anything especially cars.
He was dedicated to his family, generous with his time, friendly, loved to meet people and visit with them, and was always concerned for and helping others.
Survivors include the following: wife, Donna Sue Rosen of Ammon; son, Terry Robert Rosen of Pocatello; three daughters, Vicki Lorraine Rosen of Pocatello, Jamie Lynn (Rodney) Jenks of Idaho Falls, and Jodi Rae Coskun of Idaho Falls; two sisters, RoseMarie Peterson of Idaho Falls, and Kathy Rosen of Idaho Falls; one brother, Delmar Henry (MaRee) Rosen of Idaho Falls; and 4 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Marion and Dwaine Rosen; and a sister, Doreen Rosen.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 19, 2006, at the Ammon LDS First Ward, 3000 Central Ave with Bishop Jim Summers officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday evening from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. Idaho Falls and Thursday one hour prior to the services at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, Boise Office, 223 North 6th St., Suite 200; Boise, ID 83702.
