Michael Garcia, 53, of Idaho Falls, died May 30, 2010, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls of complications of a liver disease. He was born January 31, 1957, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Joe Garcia and Morine Garcia. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls. He took extended courses in fire fighting and EMT from the National Firefighters Association at the INL. He received training at Eastern Idaho Technical College where he earned his CNA Certification. He was certified in Massage Therapy Certification and Horse Massage. He was married to Kristy Chapple Durham. They were divorced. He married Kathi Jones. He worked for the INL for 22 years as a fire fighter-EMT; EIRMC in the surgery and ICU units; Qualicare Home Health, and with private clients for Massage therapy. He was a member of the Catholic Church. He was active in Golden Gloves; City league softball; was a little league coach, and worked with Humane Society and animal rescue. He enjoyed woodworking, leather working, massage therapy for both people and animals. He loved to travel and spending time with his boys. Michael was a kind and all around good person. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He is survived by the following: wife, Kathi Jones of Idaho Falls; sons: Troy Garcia of Idaho Falls and Travis Garcia of Boise; brother, Ruben (Laurie) Garcia of Arroyo Grande, California; nephew: Brody Garcia of Arroyo Grande, California, and Orion Garcia of Boise. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Celebration of Life for friends and family will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 2010, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls..
