Obituary

Michael "Myke" Jean Harker, 54, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, died Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at her home in Idaho Falls. She was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice. She was born March 31, 1956, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Larry Allen and Fern Kerswell Harker. She grew up in Idaho Falls and graduated from Skyline High School in 1974. She attended San Diego State University. She served in the United States Navy as a nurse. She married Jim Feudner at the First Presbyterian Church in October, 1974. They were later divorced. She lived in San Diego (Pacific Beach) for over 20 years. After full time duty in the Navy, she served in the active reserves. After the Navy, she was a long time administrative assistant for S.E.I. When she moved back to Idaho Falls, she was the circulation director for the Post Register and lived on First Street until she died. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was a friend and caretaker of anyone who needed it. She enjoyed reading, drawing, talking with friends and being whimsical. Myke was a generous, powerful, loving, friendly, caring, adventurous, fun and full of life woman who was accepting of others, full of surprises, strong willed and imaginative. She is survived by her daughter, Sunny Kathleen Harker of San Francisco, California; partner, Gregory Kent Harker of Idaho Falls; brother, Chris (Dena) Harker of Idaho Falls; sister, Jackie (Allen) Young of Blackfoot; sister, Jodi (Roy) Barrus of Centerville, Utah; sister, Suzy (Mark) Martinez of Modesto, California. She is preceded in death by her parents. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 15, 2010, at First Presbyterian Church, 325 Elm Street, Idaho Falls, with Reverend Dr. Dennis Falasco and Reverend Tom Wylie officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church. Military rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Team and the Idaho Military Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hands of Hope Hospice, 1379 E. 17th Street, Idaho Falls, Idaho, 83404. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.coltrinmortuary.com.
