Obituary

Mildred Evelyne Boyce, 91, of Idaho Falls, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Lincoln Court Retirement Community. She was under the care of One Source Home Health and Hospice.

Mildred was born on January 20, 1933, in Monroe, Connecticut, to Hans E. Dineson, Sr., founder of The Electric Heater Company in Stratford, and his wife, Bessie G. Reynolds Dineson.  She graduated from Bassik High School in 1950 and served in various positions in the local music societies, Rainbow Girls, and activities through Monroe Congregational Church.

On November 25, 1950, she married John Robert (Bob) Boyce during a hurricane!

They soon moved to Fairfield, Connecticut where they raised two daughters, were charter members of Fairfield-Grace United Methodist Church, and were instrumental in fundraising for the church buildings and ministries.  Mildred was also a member of the Mary Silliman Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution as well as the Eastern Star.  She worked for Charles P. Stetson, a Westport stockbroker, for over 25 years.

Mildred and Bob retired to Sequim, Washington in 1990, making new friends and enjoying the beauty of the northwest.  Once again, they joined the sanctuary building fundraising events for Sequim United Methodist  Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, CA Church.  Mildred sang in the church choir, as well as other community choirs on the Olympic Peninsula.

After Bob's passing in 2014, Mildred moved to Lincoln Court Retirement Community in Idaho Falls, Idaho to be closer to her daughter, Lila.

She is survived by her daughters: Ruth Elin Drossel of Simi Valley, California and Lila B. Wheatley of Etna, Wyoming; grandsons: Erich H. (Lauren) Drossel of Portland, Oregon and Patrick L. (Megan) Drossel of Canon City, Colorado; and a variety of furry, 4 legged grand and great-grand pets!

Mildred is remembered fondly for her love of music, cooking, entertaining, and making lifelong friends wherever she would go.
