Obituary

Mona H. Neal, 85, of Idaho Falls, died January 4, 2009, in Rexburg, where she had been living with her daughter, Laura.

She was born September 24, 1923, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Howard Humphrey and Blanch Howard Humphrey. She grew up in Swan Valley, Chester, St. Anthony, Ashton and Rigby. She attended Ashton High School and joined many reunions of the Class of 1941.

On Sept. 15, 1940, she married Jack Van Sickle in St. Anthony, Idaho. They were divorced in 1944. On Dec. 10, 1946, she married David Lewis Neal in Dillon, Montana. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on Feb. 21, 1970. He passed away January 2, 1989.

She worked for potato farmers, W. O. Hall & Sons, and was an operator for Mountain Bell in Idaho Falls.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she had served in the Primary, scouting, as a girl's camp leader and a visiting teacher.

She was a member of the Easy Breathers, Union Pacific Railroad Old Timers, and Senior Citizens.

She enjoyed clogging, dancing, knitting, fishing, camping, playing bridge and Scrabble.

Mona loved and enjoyed life, especially her family.

She is survived by the following: daughter, Jackie Hymas of Boise; daughter, Judy (Blair) Hinckley of Idaho Falls;son, Tim (Marcia) Neal of Firth;son, Dan (Judy) Neal of Casper, Wyoming;son, Jim (Eve) Neal of Roy, Utah; daughter, Laura (Bruce) Burton of Rexburg;22 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David; a son, Cary Neal; a son-in-law, Jerry Hymas; a grandson, Scott Neal; a sister, Donna Jensen; and brothers, Doug and Vance Humphrey.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 8, 2009, at the Idaho Falls LDS 18th Ward Chapel , 2100 Dunbar Dr. with Bishop Cloyd Jones officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 7 at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls and at the church one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Annis-Little Butte Cemetery.
