Monte Ray Farnes, 58, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, completed his earthly journey on Sunday April 27, 2014, at his home of natural causes. He was born January 12, 1956, in Idaho Falls, to William Darrell Farnes and Ida Burningham Farnes. He spent his life in Idaho Falls, having graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1974. He continued his education at Ricks College (now BYU Idaho) in Rexburg. He filled a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Buenos Aires, Argentina and was a faithful member throughout his life serving in many capacities. Whether it was swing dancing or working as a bull fighting rodeo clown, Monte was always up for some fun. Nineteen years ago, he met the love of his life with the birth of a beautiful baby girl, Katie Raye. Monte worked incredibly hard to provide all he could for Katie. His world revolved around her. His love and guidance as a father will most definitely continue from the other side of the veil. Monte was preceded in death by his parents and a step-father, Dayle Sanderson. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2014, at the Ammon LDS 7th Ward Chapel, 3934 E. 49th S. Idaho Falls, Idaho with Bishop Reece Christensen officiating. The family will visit with friends from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls and Thursday one hour prior to the services at the church.
