Monty Lane Egbert, 61, of Idaho Falls, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2020, after a valiant fight with multiple health problems.

Monty was born on August 2, 1958, in Ashton, Idaho to H. Doyle and Deanna Burt Egbert. He attended elementary schools in California and St. Anthony, Idaho. He attended West Jefferson High School in Terreton, Idaho where he excelled in football and wrestling. Monty was a state wrestler and co-captain of the team.

Monty loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the London England Mission where he found many lifelong friends.

After his mission, he attended Idaho State University where he met Stephanie Parrish. They were married in August 1982 in the Idaho Falls Temple. To this union, six children were born. They were later divorced.

Monty worked as a real estate appraiser for his entire working career and started his own business, Piece of the Rockies Appraising.

He enjoyed finding treasures at second-hand stores and antique shops. He was proud of his children and grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.

He leaves behind his children: Emily Egbert of Los Angeles, CA, KaLawnie (William) Malufau of Idaho Falls, ID, Alex (Rachel) Egbert of Tempe, AZ, Cassidy (Nathan) Egbert-Riddle of St. George, UT, Derek Egbert of Rexburg, ID, and Zach (Chey) Egbert of Idaho Falls, ID; his mother Deanna Egbert of Idaho Falls, ID; his siblings: Michael (Susan) Egbert, Barry (Noelle) Egbert both of Idaho Falls, ID, and Chris (Kelly) Kofoed of Salt Lake City, UT; and 10 grandchildren, with one more on the way.

He was preceded in death by his father Doyle Egbert and his brother Keith Egbert.
