Nancy Marie Peterson Chandler, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on October 28, 2025, at the age of 75. Nancy was born on December 9, 1949, in Rexburg, Idaho, to her loving parents, George Peter Peterson and Faye Elaine Johnson.

Nancy attended Box Elder High School in Perry, Utah, through her sophomore year. She then moved to Sugar City, Idaho, and graduated from Sugar-Salem High School in 1968. She had a passion for beauty and creativity, which led her to graduate from Hollywood Beauty College in Ogden, Utah, and work as a dedicated cosmetologist for 15 years. She will also be remembered for her dedication as a clerk at the County Recorder's Office in Rexburg, where she worked for 20 years.

Nancy found true happiness when she married Lyle Chandler on May 13, 2006. Their bond was sealed for eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple.

Her greatest joy and treasure was her family. Nancy is survived by her husband, Lyle, and her nine children: Shawn (Tamra) Steel, Wendi (Dustin) Birch, James Steel (Elissa Van Marter), Darren Steel, Sarah (Tony) Austin, Amanda Emang, Emily Cartmell, Melissa (Stewart) Ward, and Heather (Geryk) Hively. She will be dearly missed by her 36 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, who brought so much light to her life.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and her three brothers, Elwood, Larin, and Rex.

Her family would like to express their most sincere thanks for the love and kindness shown to Nancy by Britney, Angie, and Shianne at Aspen Home Health and Hospice.

Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m., November 7, 2025, at the Sugar City Cemetery

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m., November 7, 2025, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 3370 North 5th West, Idaho Falls, under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls.
