Nancy Irene (Cain) Gordon, 73, of Idaho Falls, passed away on September 14, 2024, at Eagle Rock Health and Rehabilitation.

Nancy was born January 13, 1951, the second in line of what would be 5 kids to John and Pearl Cain. A tiny baby, 5 lbs something, Grandma Cain always said she looked like a plucked chicken.

She joined the Navy after high school and worked with the Naval post office. She met her forever partner, Tony Gordon, at Disneyland no less, while still in the Navy. They fell in love by letter and were married on June 18, 1973. They had just celebrated their 51st anniversary this past June. Two children quickly followed, Maverick in 1974 and Shawnda in 1976. Many moves and many states followed, New Mexico, Texas, Indiana, Alabama, Arizona, Oklahoma, Colorado, and finally Idaho. I know Mom left many friends in all these states.

Anyone who knew her knew her love of children. So much so she even drove a school bus for a while. But the babies, oh how she loved the babies. She was generous to a fault and was always quiet and kind, but she could be oh so stubborn if you tried to tell her she "couldn't" do something or "had" to do something. She would prove you wrong. She was fragile and strong and will be missed so much by all who loved her.

Her loving husband, 2 children and their spouses, 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 4 siblings, and countless nieces, nephews, and cousins will miss her loving spirit, but we are happy knowing she is at peace and can rest now.
