Nathanael Brigham Mittag, 32, of Idaho Falls passed away April 17, 2014, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical center of kidney and heart failure. He was born September 16, 1981, in New York City, New York, to George Peter Mittag and Eileen Agnes Stevenson Mittag. Due to complications at birth, he required special food as an infant. He grew up in Woodside and South Ozone Park in New York City. He graduated from Summit High School in 2000. Although mentally challenged, Nat worked with assistance at Home Depot and Deseret Industries. While going to school, he worked at the GAP, Fort Toten and at LaGuardia Airport. As a school janitor, he proudly raised and lowered the stars and stripes, a huge America flag every day. Nat was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Nat was always helpful to anyone. Every year for over five years, he proudly volunteered at Utah's KSL T.V. "Shred Fest" two times a year helping people remove their hard drives for shredding. Nat could fix anything and loved fixing bikes and donating them. Nat was the "go to guy" in the neighborhood and fixed computers, monitors, lawnmowers, snow blowers and anything and everything else. Nat was a sweet young man who loved to talk and would strike up a conversation with anyone. From then on, they would be his friend and he would do anything to help them. He was very helpful to others with information that he freely gave. Nat was his mother's helper, constant companion, and best friend. He will be sorely missed by his family and all who knew him. He is survived by the following: his mother, Eileen Stevenson of Idaho Falls; his father, George P. Mittag of New York; a brother, Benjamin M (Shalaee) Mittag, a sister, AnnMarie S. Mittag, and a niece, Naomi R. Mittag all of Idaho Falls. Nat was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Agnes and Robert Stevenson and his paternal grandparents, Dorothy and George F. Mittag. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at the Idaho Falls LDS 18th Ward, 1200 Dunbar, on Saturday April 26, 2014, under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls.
