Obituary

Nelda Jolley Jensen, 101, of Ammon, died Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Turtle and Crane Assisted Living.

Nelda was born on January 27, 1917, in Goshen, Idaho to Irvin Henry and Orvella Young Jolley. She was born at her Grandfather Young's home. She attended school in Firth, Blackfoot and Shelley, Idaho. She went to school at Shelley High School.

On October 23, 1934, she married Virgil Phillip Jensen, at the Idaho Falls Court House. They were later sealed on June 28, 1956, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To this union four children were born: Naida, Sharon, Linda, and Larry. Virgil passed away on October 12, 2008.

She worked for J.J. Newberry Company and for Bonneville School District 93 Lunch Program. She lived in Firth, Blackfoot, Shelley, Southern California, Idaho Falls and many years in Ammon.

Nelda was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many positions including Primary Teacher, Primary Presidency, Stake Sunday School Board, MIA Leader, and was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She was also a member of "A Club" for many years (women who served together in primary).

She was a quilter, enjoyed doing crafts and growing roses.

Mother was a wonderful hostess; if you visited her home she wanted you to sit and eat with her—you must not leave hungry.

She is survived by her children: Naida (Clarence) Black of Chubbuck, Idaho; Sharon (LaMar) Frandsen of Draper, Utah; Linda (Grant) Lees of St. George, Utah; Larry (Jude) Jensen of Idaho Falls, Idaho; 13 grandchildren 38 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Phillip Jensen; her parents: Irvin Henry and Orvella Young Jolley; her brothers: Kenneth Jolley and Wendell Jolley; a sister, Wilma Andrade.

A celebration of life will be held at 12 noon, Friday, March 16, 2018, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. A visitation will be held from 11-11:45 a.m., prior to the celebration of life at Coltrin Mortuary. Burial will be at Firth Cemetery.
