Nina Blanche Aiman, 87, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away from complications of heart disease at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center on Friday, August 5, 2011. Nina was born December 30, 1923, in York (near Taylor in Bonneville County), Idaho. She was the eighth and youngest child of William Dare Neilson and "Lola" (Miller) Neilson Hampton. She grew up and attended school in Taylor and graduated from Idaho Falls High School, the first of her family ever to do so. As a young girl she loved to play softball and enjoyed playing it with her many friends. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Nina married her childhood sweetheart, Wayne Aiman, on May 23, 1942, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and they enjoyed nearly 70 years of marriage. Nina generously shared her time and talents by serving her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings: Karl, Christine "Lee", Ace, William "R.L.", Kenneth, Carol, and Elaine. She is survived by her husband, Wayne Aiman, of Idaho Falls, her daughter, Linda Aiman, of Black Forest, Colorado and her son, Gary (Cynthia) Aiman, of Rexburg, Idaho; four granddaughters, Alysia, Jessica, Tami, and Lori; and one grandson, Greg and, according to her, twelve "great" grandchildren. Nina lived in the Idaho Falls area for most of her life and enjoyed living in St. George in the winter for almost 20 years. She was diagnosed with Scleroderma in 1973 and found that the warm weather helped alleviate the discomfort from the disease. She was a survivor and beat the disease. She said, "the only thing I really missed was giving up my bowling." She was an avid bowler and participated in many leagues and competed at many tournaments. She spent a lot of time at the Elks Club in Idaho Falls with her husband and friends. She was often described as "the best dressed" and "a classy lady". She kept an immaculate home, had a natural talent for interior decorating, and was a wonderful cook. She and Dad adored their two children and attended all of their activities. Their grandchildren enjoyed countless sleepovers at the family home. She knew each grandchild individually and always showed her love for them. Our family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Carter, Dr. Gorman, the nurses, and all her caregivers at EIRMC. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, August 10 at 11:00 a.m., at Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.coltrinmortuary.com.
