Obituary

Our loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather Norman Del Fowler quietly passed away March 11, 2020, at Turtle and Crane Assisted Living in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Norman was born April 1, 1946, in Shelly, Idaho to Hyrum Devon Fowler and Edith Morris Fowler, and was the youngest of their 7 children. Norman married Linda Bea Kauer in the Idaho Falls Temple on August 26, 1966. They had two children a son Scott Norman Fowler and a daughter Tammy Lynn Fowler (De Koekkoek). They had nine grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Norman grew up in Shelly and moved to Blackfoot, Idaho as a child. He graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1965. Dad worked for Farr's Candy of Idaho Falls as a mix maker. Norman had a 33-year career at the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory as a security officer and was a respected officer there until his retirement in 2011.

Norman was an avid outdoorsman: he loved camping, boating, motorcycles, and photography, but his favorite hobby and passion was fishing. He was always taking someone fishing with him and always knew the best fishing spots to try. He was an incredible father and grandfather and doted on his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Norman was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved and appreciated his ward members.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years Linda B. Fowler of Idaho Falls, daughter Tammy L. (Fowler) De Koekkoek of Idaho Falls, and son Scott Norman Fowler (wife Patsy) of Burley as well as his grandsons: Tony, Anthony, Michael, Austin, William and Nicholas, and his granddaughters: Victoria, Katherine, and Mercedes and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Hyrum and Edith Fowler, his brothers; Jack, LaMar, and Williard, and his sisters: Betty Carol, Nona, and Marcene.
