Octavio Alvarez, 74, of Roberts, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at his home. He was under the care of Enhabit Hospice.

Octavio was born on April 1, 1951, in Aratzipu, Guanajuato, Mexico, to Melchor Alvarez and Alicia Mosqueda. He grew up in Aratzipu.

On November 6, 1976, he married Alicia Bravo in Aratzipu, Mexico. They have lived in Roberts, Idaho, since 1977. He has worked in agriculture at the Larsen Processing Plant for about 20 years.

He was a member of the Catholic Church. He enjoyed taking care of his garden, yard, planting trees, and spending time with his family. He was a devoted family man whose love for his wife, faith in God, and pride in a well-tended yard were matched only by the long hours he worked to give his family a life filled with care and stability.

Octavio is survived by his wife, Alicia Alvarez of Roberts, Idaho; his daughters: Erika (Manuel) of Iona, Idaho, Julie (Samuel) Garcia of Menan, Idaho, and Jessica Alvarez of Wilmington, Delaware; his sons: Manuel (Erica) Alvarez of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Martin (Eloisa) of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Roy Alvarez of Roberts, Idaho; 16 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Melchor Alvarez and Alicia Mosqueda; sister, Angelica Alvarez; and brothers, Manuel Alvarez and Heriberto Alvarez.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 28, 2026, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 659 2872 East, Roberts. Burial will be in the Market Lake Cemetery.
