Obituary

Patricia (Patty) M. Ackerschott, 81, of Idaho Falls, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2026, at her home. She was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho.

Patty was born on March 20, 1945, to Gerald Hintz and Cleona Redl Hintz in Sacramento, California. The family later moved to Nez Perce, Idaho, where she graduated from Lewiston High School in 1964. Her family moved to Helena, Montana. She met our dad in Helena, and they got married and lived in East Helena before moving to Butte. They were married on October 3, 1964. To this union, four children were born: Candice, David, Joseph, and Shane. The family relocated to Idaho Falls in 1982. After almost 59 years together, Arthur passed away on August 20, 2023.

Patty retired from Sam's Club as a Customer Service Representative. She was a member of the Catholic Church. She served as a past president of the Elks Lodge and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.

She enjoyed spending time with family, she loved her dog, Kenzie, and she especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Our amazing Momma was the heart of our family- strong, loving, selfless, and always there with a hug, a laugh, and endless love that makes every day brighter.

Patty is survived by her daughter, Candice M. (Dave) Clark of Blackfoot, Idaho; her sons: David M. (Angie) Ackerschott of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Joseph M. (Brandy) Ackerschott of Pocatello, Idaho, and Shane M. Ackerschott of Rigby, Idaho; her sister, Danna (Mike) Sinnott of Helena, Montana; her sisters-in-law: Shelley (Terry) Hanekan of Butte, Montana, and Pam (Joe) Hintz of Helena, Montana; 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Cleona Hintz; her husband, Arthur M. Ackerschott; her brothers, Joe Hintz and Johnny Hintz.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Cremation is under the care of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls.
