Obituary

Patricia Laurance, 82, of Idaho Falls, daughter of Ruth Rudd and Lawrence Wallace Miller, and loving wife of Dean Laurance, passed away in her home Friday, Sept. 2, 2022.

Patricia was born Nov. 28, 1939, in St. Anthony, Idaho. Pat was the second of 8 children. She was raised alongside her 7 siblings in their family home in Parker.

Pat attended South Fremont High and graduated in 1958. She later attended Ricks Academy.

She married Kent Fransen in 1962 at the Logan LDS Temple. Together they had 6 children. They later divorced.

She married her sweetheart, Dean Laurance, on July 3, 1985. Together they loved to take their family camping in Island Park to boat and snowmobile. The couple loved spending quality time together running their hearing aid business and traveling. They could be found eating breakfast at their favorite restaurants.

Pat was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She enjoyed walking across the street to take her grandchildren to church, where she held callings such as Sunday-school teacher and Young Women's presidency. She loved devoting her time to family genealogy, saying her family came from royalty, and doing temple work at the Idaho Falls Temple.

Patricia was a master homemaker and took pride in making everyone feel welcome. Pat loved hosting holiday events with her large family. She enjoyed gardening and the family loved the jams, potato salad, and salsa she would love to make. Pat loved tying quilts and sewing with her daughters and grandchildren. She had a creative side, loving to paint and draw like her mother. She loved to bowl and was on a bowling league winning Lady's Bowler of the Year. You could often catch Pat playing solitaire, Tetris, Pac-Man, reading a book, or helping someone in need.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Lawrence and Ruth; her husband Dean; and siblings: Gordon, Donna, Gary, and Garth.

She is survived by her children: Larry (Jill) Fransen, Pamela Woolford, Brenda (Kelly Battleson) Andrus, Jon (Ebony) Fransen, Alaina (Gordon) Swanson, and Doug (Angela) Fransen; granddaughter, Helen Fransen; siblings: Betty (Ron) Christensen, LaRue (Lanny) Wilding, and Pauline Sanchez; 26 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Patricia was very generous, loving, humble, outspoken, and will be missed dearly.
