Patrick James Flynn, 85, of Idaho Falls, passed away Friday, March 28, 2014, at Good Samaritan Idaho Falls Village. He was under the care of Aspen Home Health and Hospice. He was born July 31, 1928, in Pocatello, Idaho, the only child of Paul Eccles Flynn and Josephine Edna Fryor. He grew up in Idaho Falls and graduated in 1947 from Idaho Falls High School. On January 15, 1950 he married Edna Elaine Gray in Idaho Falls. They lived in Oregon and Utah besides living in Idaho Falls. Patrick worked for Union Pacific Railroad and was self-employed as a mechanic. Patrick and Edna enjoyed square dancing and he was also a square dance caller. The family would like to express their thanks to Mike and Nikki for their support during this time and to Julie and Verla from Aspen Hospice. Patrick is survived by the following: Wife, Edna Flynn of Idaho Falls; Sons: Patrick James (Clara) Flynn II of Boise, ID; Larry Michael (Julie) Flynn of Richland, WA; Paul Kelly Flynn of Bountiful, UT; and Shaun Timothy (Katharyn) Flynn of Gillette, WY; Daughters: Sherry Kaye Renak and Cindy Jean Woolf both of Idaho Falls; and Tammy Edna (Mark) Dalton of Riverton, UT; 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. At Patrick's request, there will be no services. Arrangements are under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls.
