Obituary

With heavy hearts and empty arms, we say our final goodbyes to our beloved Bubba, Patrick Kokko, on Tuesday, December 13, 2016. At the age of 22, he chose to end his life. We grieve for the unfulfilled life he left behind.

Patrick was born on December 24, 1993, in Sacramento, California, to Bryan Kokko and Chenee' Stamm. He moved to Idaho at a young age.  As a young child, Patrick was always so full of life, imagination, and creativity. He'd create games for he and his siblings to play. He loved Pokémon, and has collected cards since he was young, and always knew how to make everyone around him laugh. Patrick loved to read and some of his favorite series were Harry Potter and the Wizards First Rule. He attended Hillcrest High School and graduated from Bonneville High School in 2012.

He loved anything magical. Even from childhood he'd always perform magic tricks and card tricks. He enjoyed performing other acts, so he spent a couple years volunteering to dance for Dr. Slalughter's and also modeled in the Austin Kade Hair show several times. He would get together weekly with his friends to play video games.

Playing guitar and singing was his life. He has been practicing for years and even tried out for American Idol.

Patrick married the love of his life, Emily Susanne Adams, on November 29, 2015. The ceremony was held in Idaho Falls, and was a small, intimate affair attended by many close friends and family.

He was a brother to many, bringing friends home with him always meant adding to the family. Many adored him and plenty have the pleasure of saying they love him.

Patrick always said some of his favorite memories were spending the holidays and summers in Utah with his grandparents. Silly phrases like, "Get out of mine road", "Easter money", "The 12 days of Christmas, my Kokko bought for me" or "No, this is Patrick!" will always be perfect little inside jokes that will remind us of him.

He is survived by his wife, Emily Kokko; his father, Bryan Kokko; his sisters: Rebecca (Wade) Mitchell, Ashlei Kokko, Nea Arave, all of Idaho Falls, ID, Trinity Kokko, Lyrik Kokko, both of Boise, ID; his brother: Jaiddon Arave, of Idaho Falls, ID; his stepfather, Gregg (Jackie) Arave, of Idaho Falls, ID; his grandparents: Rick (Linda) Stamm, of Johnson City, TN, Nancy Furmanski, of Gulfport, MS, and Kenneth (Leslie) Kokko, of Ogden, UT; his uncles: John Stamm, of Boise, ID and Caleb Stamm, of Johnson City, TN; his nieces and nephews: Kaihia, Claudio, and Emma.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Chenee'; his dog, Teddy; his uncle Chris; his cousin, Jesse; his grandma Mona; and many special loved ones were there to greet him on the other side.

There are no words that can describe the grief his family and friends are feeling, being unable to have the light, joy and handsome face of Patrick with us. We weep that one so lovely should have a life so brief.

Patrick is loved yesterday, today, and always. Fly high, Bubba. We love you!
