Paul E. Rule, 58, of Idaho Falls, passed away at his home on March 5, 2022. He was under the care of Encompass Home Health.

Paul was born on September 27, 1963, in La Paz, Bolivia. He was one of a set of triplets that was adopted along with his brother and sister by Don E Rule and Bonita Rene' Barrick Rule. Paul grew up in Saint Anthony, Idaho. He graduated from South Fremont High School in 1982, he went on to study at ISU and CSI in Auto Body Training.  He also attended EIVTS Earning a Certificate of Applied Science in Nuclear Security Training, graduating in 1988. He went on to Mason and Hangar- Silas Co. Training Academy and graduated in 1989.

He married Joy Rule and they later divorced. On April 21, 2007, he married Maribel Hernandez in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Paul worked in Los Alamos, New Mexico as a security officer transferring to the INL as a Security Police Officer. Later he became an INL firefighter from January 1994 to April 2019. He then worked for Red Inc. as an Escort at NRF.

Paul enjoyed video gaming, running, and the scenery of Idaho. Paul was a genuine, unique father who knew how to make you laugh and make your bad days turn to good days. He was the life of the party whose laughter cannot be forgotten.

Paul is survived by his wife Maribel Rule of Idaho Falls, Idaho, his son Emanuel Cervantes of Idaho Falls, Idaho, his daughter Sara Herlin Cervantes of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Sisters; Mary (Mitch) Bingham, of Menan, Idaho, Holly Rule of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Heidi (Terry) Hawkins of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Angela Myiasaki of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Terry Rule of Boise, Idaho, and his brother Peter Rule of Saint Anthony, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his parents Don and Bonnie Rule and a sister Susan Dawley.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Friday, March 11, 2022, and one hour prior to the services at Coltrin mortuary. Interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery in St. Anthony, Idaho.
