Obituary

Pearl Ann (Neddo) Stoddard, 85, of Idaho Falls, died April 5, 2010, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Pearl was born on January 24, 1925, in Trenton, Utah, to Alice Nielsen and Levi Andreasen. She was the third child of a family that eventually numbered ten children. Her early childhood was spent in Ogden, Utah. After the untimely death of her father, the family moved to Brigham City, Utah, where Pearl attended Box Elder High school. She married Donald E. Neddo in Toledo, Ohio. They were later divorced. She married Dewaine H. Stoddard in Idaho Falls in May of 1972. Most of Pearl's professional life was in retail sales. She was a long time employee of the Sears Roebuck Co., where she ultimately became a Division Manager. She was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS), serving in many capacities. She prided herself most as the ward music chairman of the Lincoln Second Ward. Her many other callings included: Young Women's President, Gospel Doctrine teacher, Compassionate Service Leader, Choir Director, Ward Historian, and service in the Idaho Falls Temple. Pearl was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening, knitting, and was an expert seamstress. She loved music and had a beautiful alto voice. She is survived by three sons: Dennis C. Neddo (Linda Marie) and Rodger L. Neddo both of Idaho Falls, and Lewis D. Neddo (Li-Yun) of Las Vegas, Nevada; five daughters: Darla F. Barlow (Les) and Mary Lynn Hartwell (Ralph) both of Idaho Falls; Linda K. Klatt (Dave) of Pocatello; Elaine Gray (Danny) of Lolo, Montana, and Joan E. Poulsen (Steve) of Layton, Utah; a brother and sister, Earl Gardner, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Andre Merrill of Chicago, Illinois; and by twenty-one grandchildren and thirty-three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewaine, and seven of her nine siblings: Loren Andreasen, Betty Anderson, Norene Eldredge, Connie Coombs, Don Andreasen, Cleve Gardner and Leland Gardner. The family wishes to acknowledge and express their deep gratitude to our mother's long-time friend, Gay Bush, for her kindness and attention during the last, difficult months of mother's life. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 9, 2010, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St., Idaho Falls, Idaho.
