Florence (Peggy or Peg) Hoyt Reeves, 96, of Idaho Falls, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls. She was born July 21, 1917, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Stanley William Wade and Florence Sears Wade. Peggy graduated from West High School in Salt Lake. She worked as a telephone operator for Mountain States Telephone Company. She was an active member of the First Aid Club and enjoyed hiking in the Salt Lake area. On May 10, 1942, she married Edwin Lee Reeves. She followed her new husband around the country as he attended basic training to be in the Air Force. Peg was an active member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Her hobbies included needlework, gardening, reading and spending time with friends and family. Peggy is survived by the following: Daughter, Margaret (Don) Broening of Palmyra, Nebraska; Son, Roger (Frances) Reeves of Chicago, Illinois; 3 Grandchildren: Jon Broening, Matt (Adra) Broening, and Lily Reeves; 4 Great-grandchildren: Alex, Kristen, Maggie and Ben Broening. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Lee Reeves; a son, Edwin Lee Reeves Jr; 2 brothers, Edgar Wade and Stanley William Wade Jr.; and 2 sisters, Charlotte Morrison and Phyllis Dunn. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Life Care Center for Peg's end-of-life care. A special thanks is also extended to Rose Fischer, Susie Fisch, Sandy Price, JoAnn Cissel and Jan Tucker and other wonderful friends who have supported her throughout the years. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in her name to the Food Bank, the Soup Kitchen, or to St. Luke's Episcopal Church organ fund. A Memorial service will be held for Peg at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 270 N. Placer, Idaho Falls, at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2013.
