Obituary

Rachel passed away Monday November 24, 2014 at the age of 32 in Seattle, WA from complications related to a 3-year long battle with leukemia. She was born December 22, 1981 to Perrin C and Libby Jo Chandler Graves, and was brought home in a Christmas stocking. She was raised in Idaho Falls, ID and led a healthy, active childhood. She developed her passion for baking at a very young age and loved making cookies with her Grandma Chandler. Rachel relocated to North Huntingdon, PA in 1997. She graduated from Norwin High School in 2000, where she played on the tennis team and was a proud member of their award-winning marching band. Rachel was then accepted into the Le Cordon Bleu International Culinary Academy in Pittsburgh, PA and achieved her dream of becoming a pastry chef when she graduated in 2001. Rachel married Robert Brezak on June 24, 2006. She worked for several different restaurants and catering companies as they frequently relocated during Rob's medical education. The light of their lives, Libby Lee, was born on November 14, 2009 in Worcester, MA. They took many family outings throughout New England, and especially enjoyed going to the beach. Cherry Hill in Kaysville, UT was also one of Rachel's favorite places. Her hobbies, other than baking, included knitting, gaming, and football. Board games brought out her competitive side, going nearly undefeated at several games. Rachel had a very giving heart and made lasting friendships wherever she went. She is survived by: husband Robert and daughter Libby of Lynnwood, WA; Rob's parents Bob and Barbara Brezak of Ewing, NJ; Rob's brother Michael of Portsmouth, NH; her parents Perry and Rita Graves of Idaho Falls, ID; grandparents Art and Elna Chandler of Buhl, ID; siblings Hilary (Grant) Gardner, Wade (Jami) Anderson, and Matthew Graves of Idaho Falls, ID; sister Lori (Steve) Nestor of North Huntingdon, PA; brother Levi (Kristy) Graves of Pocatello, ID; and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother Libby Chandler Graves and grandparents, Charles and DeAnn Graves.
