Obituary

Ramona Field Sayer, 91 of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed from this life on 18 February, 2006, from causes' incident to age in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was born 24 September, 1914, in Grant, Idaho, to John Harvey Field and Electra Pinnock Field.

Ramona attended grade school in Grant and high school at Midway High (between Lewisville and Menan). She attended her senior year of high school and graduated from San Pedro High School in California while living with an aunt.

Ramona married Phillip Harton Sayer 9 November, 1935, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple. Phil and Ramona farmed in the Snake River Valley area for several years before moving to Mackay in 1943 where they farmed and raised beef cattle. Ramona moved back to Idaho Falls in December 1984 after Phil passed away.

Ramona was gentle and patient in every thing she did. She transformed every house she lived in into a pleasant and comfortable home. She loved gardening and always had her yard adorned with flowers. She was an excellent cook and served many meals to those less fortunate; including hobos as they stopped by her home. Ramona served as the cook in the Mackay School District for nearly 23 years where she made many friends from the students and staff.

Ramona was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints all of her life, having a firm testimony and always striving to follow the Prophet. She worked in the Primary and Sunday School organizations, but her love was for the Relief Society where she served as Ward Relief Society President for six years and was in the Stake Relief Society Presidency.

Ramona was preceded in death by her husband Phil; a daughter, Kaye; and a son, Dale, and a sister, Elaine Stocks.

She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Phyllis Sayer (Brent Clark) of Shelley, Idaho; two sons; Larry (Wanda) Sayer of North Logan, Utah, and Randy (Karen) Sayer of Ammon, Idaho. Ramona leaves ten loving grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Harvey (Donna) Field of Grant, Idaho.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 25, 2006, at Coltrin Mortuary with Bishop _______conducting. Friends and family may call at Coltrin Mortuary one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
